Discover Lukomir village by mountain biking <3
Mountain Bjelašnica and the biking tour through the Dugo polje (eng. Long Range) towards Lukomir village, is probably one of the most famous among mountain bikers in Bosnia and Hercegovina. We will start from Hotel Maršal on Bjelašnica mountain, through pine and beech forests, towards the Kuća spasa (eng. The House of Salvation), below the highest peak of Bjelašnica. The journey will take us down a stone road from where we will enjoy a beautiful horizon, and magical views of other mountains and the surrounding nature.
After lively bike ride down the valley we will arrive in Lukomir – the village at the highest altitude and the most remote one in the entire country.
On the edge of the village you will be treated to a breathtaking view of Rakitnica Canyon which drops 800m below. You will be able to meet villagers and hear about their fascinating lifestyle.
In Lukomir , we will have much needed break, lunch and refreshment.
After the break we are heading back through the Crveni klanac (eng. The Red Col) towards the Gradina village from where you will able to see the valley of Studeni potok. About the snakelike stream and the legend of the Rakitnica dragon you will hear more as we bike down the Posiljak hill to our endpoint – the Umoljani village where a vehicle will wait for us.
