Only 12 km from Sarajevo, hidden in the pristine thick beech forest, Skakavac waterfall or ‘Grasshopper Falls’ will take your breath away. With its height of 98 m, it’s the highest waterfall in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The view under it or from the top on the edge of the fall is magnificent.
Surrender with one of the most heterogeneous areas in the region with spruce-fir and beech-fir forest, where you can hear only the song of birds and the roar of the water, Skakavac waterfall is for more than one reason, one of the most attractive tourist sites in the vicinity of Sarajevo. Seeing it chained in ice during the winter days recalls the stories of The Chronicles of Narnia.
The waterfall is under state protection since 1954.
